We utilise a unique soft sand brush sander without damaging existing fixings
We utilise a unique soft brush sander which removes all previous coatings, dirt and grey layers. Our unique soft brush system, the Terrassen Blitz, allows timber to be sanded where bolt heads, raised nail heads and screws would hinder conventional belt and drum sanders. Most importantly, unlike conventional belt sanders with abrasive belts, there is no loss of the timber profile i.e conventional sanders remove at least 3mm from the board, our brush sander removes the coating and dirt only. Our machines have an integral vacuum in built which ensures a dust and fibre free environment whilst the work is being carried out.
Allow us to put the "wow" factor back and restore your timber deck to its natural beauty
We have a two stage cleaning process for all timber we attend to regardless of whether sanding is required, the first treatment removes all latent tannins from within the timber and the second rejuvenates the timber and returns it to its original lustre. Both treatments are removed using a 3000psi pressure washer. After the final clean your choice of coating will be applied in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and the required number of coats.
We can look after your timber deck with a regular schedule of love & attention to keep it looking beautiful
Once your deck restoration project is complete, it is essential that within 12-18 months your deck receives some basic maintenance. We recommend a good wash and one coat of oil, and we are more than happy to advise you on the most efficient way to complete this. Alternatively, at SDR we keep a record of all our work and have a maintenance program in place which would have us re-attend to your deck 12-18 months after your initial treatment. This involves a simple pressure wash with a cleaner and a single recoat of oil.
Let South West Deck Restorations restore your old or preserve your new deck. Over the years outdoor decks/ timbers are subject to the weather and harsh treatment, losing their original colour lustre and WOW factor. At SDR we are all about the restoration and preservation of outdoor timber; decks, boardwalks, verandahs, screen walls, furniture. We will restore it back to its original condition and carry out ongoing maintenance if so required.
Unlike painters, gardeners and builders, we are solely focused on timber decks, deck restoring, deck cleaning, deck oiling, deck staining, deck painting and deck maintenance. We only use the best coatings, be it oil or water based and are happy to advise which one to choose based on your timbers make, weather exposure, previous coating etc.
We utilise a specialised soft sand brush sander if required, which has an integral vacuum that creates a dust free work environment. On decks and boardwalks this benefits our clients two-fold; one by not losing any timber from the board which in turn alleviates the need to pre punch/screw down existing fixings to compensate for the 3mm that other traditional sanding belts will remove. We are also able to carry out repairs if required and can quote for extensions to your existing deck/boardwalk.
At SDR we service domestic, commercial and local government clients in the Southwest from Bunbury to Augusta and look forward to discussing your outdoor timbers needs with you at any time should you require an obligation free quote.
